Florence, the city of the Renaissance and the Medici, is attracting the wind energy scene to TORQUE2024 from 28-31 May 2024. TORQUE is organised every two years by the eawe and is one of the most important specialist conferences on wind energy research. Of course, the IWES is also part of this who's who.
The team (from left to right on the photo: A. Wasay Khan, Basem Rajjoub, Felix Prigge, Claudio Balzani) will be travelling around 30 hours and 2,800 kilometres by train to present their current research results to the community in the most sustainable and climate-friendly way possible (1x lecture, 2x poster presentation). We are looking forward to cultivating our networks again this year, learning new things and gaining ideas for our own research. The contributions of IWES are:
- A. Wasay Khan & Claudio Balzani: Leveraging Vision Transformers for Detecting Porosity in Wind Energy Composites
- Felix Prigge & Claudio Balzani: Buckling Behaviour of Rotor Blades Sandwich Panels with Spatially Distributed Material Uncertainties
- Basem Rajjoub & Claudio Balzani: Determination of Delamination-Related Material Properties and Sensitivities in a Ply Drop Composite Using a Semi-Numerical Approach
