The Composite Lab is an integral part of the course Rotor Blade Design for Wind Turbines (RBD). It is executed as a block course of four days in groups of six students at the Fraunhofer Institute for Wind Energy Systems IWES in Bremerhaven. The students receive certificates of attendance after the lab. Accomodation is organised by the Institute.
In the Composite Lab, we consider the following content:
The students travel to Fraunhofer IWES (address: Großer Westring 2, 27572 Bremerhaven) in their own responsibility. It is free of charge to go by train from Hannover Hbf to Bremerhaven Hbf (by Regionalexpress) using the semester ticket. However, it is NOT POSSIBLE to use the public local traffic with it. Moreover, the frequency of busses to Fraunhofer IWES and back is very limited. We thus recommend taking a bicycle (on own expenses).
Accomodation for the participants is in holiday flats or a hotel. The expenses for accomodation will be covered by IWES.
