The Sustainability Week at LUH is once again taking place under the motto "Unfolding potential - shaping the future". The IWES is presenting a lecture entitled "Fact check: Is wind energy helping us on the road to climate neutrality?".

Germany has set itself the target of reducing greenhouse gas emissions by 65% by 2030 compared to 1990 levels. This is absolutely essential for effective climate protection. Thanks to the expansion of renewable energy generation through solar and wind energy, this target appears to be within reach for the first time. Nevertheless, sceptical attitudes and false information persist in the media, particularly on social media. Prof. Andreas Reuter, Executive Director of the Institute for Wind Energy Systems at Leibniz University Hannover and the Fraunhofer Institute for Wind Energy Systems, presents the real facts about wind energy in order to dispel this disinformation.

  • Title of the presentation: Fact check - Will wind energy help us on the road to climate neutrality?
  • When: Wednesday, 15 May 2024, 3:00-3:45 pm
  • Where: Room A104, Building 3101, Nienburger Str. 1-4, 30167 Hanover

All interested persons are cordially invited to attend the lecture. Registration is not required.
